“ We loved having lunch here! The daylight illuminates the beautifully plated food, what a treat. The spicy miso ramen really hit the spot on a cold rainy Sunday. Added the egg, it's delicious. Tried the alcohol-free ube milk tea which was wonderful, and purple! Our favorite item on the menu is the fried chicken karaage. It's so good we should probably order 2 each time we go! Crispy and savory, atop some kind of magical tangy sauce. Service is always good, this is a top pick for Portland dining. ”
“ We loved the experience at Afuri, a great server, amazing salmon collar, beet salad, and ramen bowls. Delicious drunken whale sale and finished with basque cheesecake with yuzu sauce and a kabota squash creme brulee. Highly recommend! ”
“ I still dream about this place... and how good it was! 10/10 And I recommend the Yuzu Ramen! It's amazing and I look forward to the next time I can afford to go here again. We didn't have a reservation but they eventually seated us at the bar. I'm so thankful because it was really cold outside. Thank you for everything. Truly. ”
“ We three had lunch. FOOD: 4.5. - Hazelnut Tantanmen (Ramen). Spicy. - Tonkotsu Tantanmen (Ramen). Spicy. - Grilled saba - Basque Cheesecake. SERVICE: 5.0. Marianne was wonderful, answering our questions and checking back on us frequently. Easy to pay with cellphone by just scanning QR code on invoice; the online tool also makes it easy to split bill among several parties. AMBIANCE: 3.5. High-ceilinged and industrial. ”
“ Tried the yuzu tsukemen ramen and I didn't realize that the broth was not hot! I knew that the noodles were going to be room temp but I was surprised that the accompanying broth to dip the noodles were not hot. So different from what I'm used to, but I can imagine that this is refreshing on a hot day. Still great food- when I went they didn't have robata menu but they said they're bringing it back soon! Had "the 55" sake and it was really good ”
“ A cool izakaya with an open kitchen, serving both their well-known ramens and smaller plates. The vibe is certainly more upscale than their other locations. We got seated at the bar by the kitchen which was very fun to observe the chefs doing their things. We got a number of small plates to share between the two of us and honestly five plates filled us up decently. The Ochazuke was interesting but I wouldn't go back for it, weirdly sour for some reasons. The Uni Sesame Tofu was fun. Texture was kinda slimey because of the okra so do be aware but the flavors were good and refreshing. Their Wagyu Tartare was our favorite of the night. Amazing flavors. Paired super well with the crispy wontons. 10/10 here. We finished off with the Futomaki and Hotatemaki. The Futomaki was the better of the two but the Hotatemaki was more novel. Both were very fresh and tasty though. Overall, a fun spot perfect for a date night! ”
“ Not sure why the review are not higher. We absolutely enjoyed our food. The place is open and airy. Our server was super sweet and the food was yummy. Got a hand roll and a bowl of ramen. The ramen is rich and the noodles were skinnier than I am used to buy they were nice and had a good chew to them. We all really enjoyed our food. ”
“ Had the most amazing time here! The interior was beautiful and the staff was friendly. The only thing is that they were super busy even on a week night, which meant they were not as attentive as we may have liked (one star down for that). Also, make sure you have a reservation or you will need to wait or sit that the bar. Everything we tried was delicious and fresh. Already thinking about what we will get the next time we go Kanpachi Carpaccio $19 Sake Collar Special $16 Yuzu-Tsuyu Tsukemen Cold $19 The sake collar special was cooked the perfection! The outside was a little crisp and the inside was tender and fatty. We will back for the yuzu tsuyu tsukemen too which was super refreshing with a great yuzu flavor! ”
“ My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner. My chirashi was great- the fish was very fresh. She got the yuzu-tsuyu tsukemen (dipping ramen) and you can specify if you'd like the noodles cold or warm- she picked warm and was happy with that choice. The dipping sauce was a little tangy and super flavorful- she loved how you can customize the flavor by picking how far to dip the noodles and other ingredients. We recommend getting reservations or putting yourself on the waitlist early because this restaurant was popular. ”
